Is insurance sales going to be around forever?

My husband is looking into becoming an insurance sales agent and I am wondering if anyone thinks this job will eventually become obsolete due to the younger generations getting their insurance online. We are 25 and the only reason we have an insurance agent is because he is a family friend, otherwise we would have gotten it online. I would hate for my husband to invest a lot of time and money opening his own agency if the industry is going to completely change eventually.
